My First day: That Changed my Life for Ever

Ok. So this is my week at Bai Yah. De and me got up early that morning to get everything ready to leave on Friday. We did all our business stuff like get things set for her class on Thursday that she was going to miss. So we went everywhere in Bangkok and traffic was so bad that we didn’t leave right when we wanted to but I got going. We had to go to the office to get something and pick up a missionary daughter Anna Wright that was joining us at Bia Yaih. I meet her and her parents talked for a little and then on our way on this five hours drive to Biah Yai in the Northern part of Thailand. The Trip was BEAUTIFUL. Rice fields everywhere and differently it was different from Bangkok. As we were driving on the roads I realized that Buda was everywhere. There was this one Buda on the hillside that was Whi

te and Beautiful it took up most of the mountain. There was another Buda that was being build and it was all Gold and I think that it was better then the Buda that I saw at the Temple. There

was one thing that I wish I didn’t see was a tuck full of pigs.

They were so cute but I know that they would be killed soon for meat. It was a nice drive there was Long but me and De talked about everything because Anna feel asleep. So then we got there is Bai Yahi and the first thing that we saw was a

Eson Cat lol I was like it looks like one of the cat you would see in a Chinese Restaurant. But anyways. We got into town and WOW. Culture shock set in. The town was small and there were people

everywhere. It was nighttime almost nighttime when we got there but still the town was small, so I thought. There was not really a road it was more dirt then road. We meet the pastor and some of the people from the church that were her family. Pastor Dich was her name and she seemed so sweet when I first meet her, but I was in so much shock with the town that I was quiet. I didn’t realize how much shock that I was going through. Mostly the reason I was going through shock was that I saw the bedrooms and shower and they were outside and where we were staying was a barn like Chruch with no AC or beds with a opened aired room where we were going to sleep and the kitchen was outside under and little covered thing. It was cute but diffently nothing that I would staying in. My expectation of the church was so different before I got there. So shock was big. I was happy to meet some of the kids there.

and Maih the friendliest kids that I meet before. I said hi to them and then brought all my stuff upstairs. I saw them again when I came downstairs and they gave me a handshake. I was like I am going to teach you a new handshake. De translated that for me. And I showed them a handshake and after that, that all they want to do was that handshake with me. It was my special thing with them. So after we got all settled in, Pastor Dich took us out to eat on the street. I love it because everything was everywhere and you could get anything for so cheap. I got Fried Rice because I was not feeling that hungry but it was good. After we walked back to the church and got ready for bed and that when I FOUND out the most blessed thing in my life. Western Towel and a shower inside the church. Lol the Pastor told us that we could use this one then using the one outside. so I was so so happy.. In this part of Thailand is it cultural to take a shower twice a day.. so I went to take a shower. The shower was just a hose with a little knob that you turn for the water… BUT NO HOT WATER. So cold shower. It was ok because I am use of cold water from swimming but man that was cold. The pastor before we got there put mats on the floor for us and there was a bed. So De and me slept on the bed and Anna was on the mats. Anna was smart because she used a Bug Net… In the next blog I will tell you why she was smart.

Bible School Conversation.

Today was suck a long day for me. Waking up at 6 to leave for 7 was not so much fun after going to  around 1:30 at night. Yeah that was hard. But very rewarding. The reason that we had to leave at 7 because traffic hits around 730 ish and De had a class around 8 at the AG Bible School Here. Leaving pretty early was a good idea. As we were stuck in traffic. De told me that she just remember that we had to do the kids church lesson at the church we are having the English Camp at, she just found out yesterday. So we sat there not really sure what to do. Noah's Ark, The Hand Pray, or even the Good Samaritan. There was so much that we could think about but we didn't know these kids, didn't know if they did stuff like this, and we didn't know what to do. So we were brain storming and Noah's Ark seem to be a fun one.. because we could teach them English at the same time with the Animals and the Colors. So we plan the whole thing(i love planning meeting in the car) Ready for the Camp now. So we got to the school and the boy of the campus all five of them were there to help De carry her stuff in. The first one that i meet was Patuio, he was fun and so sweet but ha long story but funny. Anyways.. he told me that i could call him Pat because that is easier for Americas to say. He knew ok English mostly speaking but hearing it. So he asked me a lot of the beginner question. We talked for a little bit learn we both like soccer and the color Blue haha. As he left to go to class for some reason i knew that was not the last time i was going to see him, DURING every break which was a lot of them, he came back to talk to me. He taught me about Hi5 and how to use it. Back to class, De is teaching them about Christian Education, if i could understand it, it would be Great. She really has a passion for it. After Class, was chapel and then Lunch. At lunch, De talked to the Missionary Director of the school, while i sat there hoping to talk to the kids of the school but no one came around me and De. All the boys went to a side table and all the girl talked to their selves. So i sat, got full really quick, ( me and De both are having Stomach problem, eating little getting full, feel like i am constipated all the time(pray for us)) as sitting there, Pat was eating like all of everyone leave lefttover after he already eat his food. But then he came to sit next to me. And wanted to talk English with me. So he asked me question and i asked him question. Then a girl from the school sat across from me and wanted to English with me, so i asked her question they asked me question. The one question that stuck in my head was the question ( do you have a boyfriend?) first the girl asked me and then Pat asked me again, Pat said that the girl across from me want him to ask me. So i said NO, he said oooo Married.. I was like NO no ring, right when i said not married he was like ooo PAT.. lol the girl across from me laughter. Pat asked another question, "she asked me to ask you this, what are you like in a guy" I laughed and the girl across from me was saying NO NO NO i didn't. So Pat was like go ahead. First he needs to be godly, he was like point at his self. and then girl were laugh, he was like more i want to know more. The girl across from me said Fun, handsome.. the whole time pat was making his self know oo like me. And then i said Willing to go to different lands like Sudan.. he was like oooo Korean.. i was like no Sudan.. he was like ooo Korean lol i laughed because Korean is where he wants to go. I laughed because the girl were talking to him and making him embarrassed for saying it haha. He was like you know i am only 18 i was like NO... he was like yes.. one girl said no... he was like yes i took 10 year and put it in the bank.. hahah that was the best joke ever. It was nice, he wanted to talk more but i need to go.. so we said goodbye and left with saying i like talking to you. It was one crazy lunch time. After that De dropped we off with the rest of the team of Book of Hope at the university, where they were just sitting down in the open air sitting area and just talking to kids that wanted to practice English it was so long.. i talked to like 20 kids.. but fun.. After i took a taxi home again. then then got things really for camp and then went to bed... it was a long good day

O pray for my team that is going to the Camp is it going to be long and hard teaching at the Camp and i probably will not have internet was this might be the last blog of this week.. i will post seven probably when i come back. Good reading material. haha Love you all.

English and Cell Group on Anger

After visiting the AG Book Store, i was a pretty normal day in the office. Did some work, worked on my paper for my GIS class. After a long day at work, De, Ami, Ami Mother, and I went to a new part of town. The town is a suburb of Bangkok. We were going to this woman's house in this small but big population community, where we were going to have a Kid's English/Bible Story lesson. It was so much fun being with these kids because they know some English. Like "What is your name" "How are you" "Fine and you?" It was fun because i am learning similar things but in Thai. So the kids in the beginning were teaching me Thai, and then Me and De started to teach them new things. First we played 7 up again but first in Thai and then in English. I was proud of myself being able to say the Numbers in Thai. I got them.. YES... Then we begin our lesson.  We were talking to them about the 5 w's (Who, What, Where, When, Why) This was so much fun to do, because me and De came up with a skit for it. I was sitting there mind my own business while De was telling them about Who. in Thai.. and then She took the WHO sticker and stuck it on me and was like WHAT was that for.. the kids laugh, she was like you are a who.. i was like OOOOOO... and then she said this is a what and slapped it on my cellphone that i was holding. And it went from there. It was fun for the kids to see De slap the things on things around me. After Telling them about the 5 W's, we played a game that i thought about in the office that day. We took sticker that were already made before in the office that said Who?WHat?Where? When? Why? and gave them to the kids. We told them that they had to go around the room and find where to stick the stickers. It was funny to see all 25 kids run around the room and stick sticker everywhere. Me and De had stick all over us. I had Who stickers and a couple of sticker that should have not been on me.. and De had a ton to of When's on her watch, and the house walls had a ton of Where. It was a great game to use. If i was a teacher i def. would use that game to teach my kids. Maybe God wants me to be a teaching overseas... i have been thinking about it. I love teaching them English. After we taught, the kids, if You remember in my last blogs about getting all those prizes from that lady, yes this is the group that we were getting them for.. the kids were so excited to get all the tickets and turned them in for amazing prizes. It was fun.. talking to the kids after the class. after the kids left we started to get ready for the adult cell group in the house. They sang some songs and then Ami's mom talked from the Pastor sermon that Sunday. It was about anger. At this point, i found out that Thai people even being so laid back really deal with more anger just being laid back them most people that are not. The anger that they were talking about was again one other. As i was sitting there, and De stop translating for me. I started to think to myself. I am not anger against anyone, but why do i feel anger in my life? I was thinking about my testimony that i just shared a couple minutes ago. You know.. i am not anger at anyone but i am anger still at myself for knowing what is right and choosing wrong. I asked God to show me and he did.. he showed me that the anger in my heart was the anger for doing wrong in my life. This anger provoked me to cut myself before, to form locked doors in my heart, and turn to more sin for comfort. This anger was indulging in my life and affect my relationship with God and people. I thought that i was over all the hurt, and i was but i was not over the anger toward myself. So at that moment in the middle of listening to Ami's mom i started to cry out to God to take this anger away from me. To take my anger and change it to love for myself. I am not going to lie to myself, it is going to take time, but after i prayed, felt this amazing warm of big arm wrapped around me. It is one of those amazing experience that God brings in your life to show that he is there for you. From there, i felt better and ready for anything. The devil has no place in my heart and anger is one of them. Freedom is what i look for, and i praise God for that everyday....
Eating that night with a BIG meal was great.. but to fulling for me.. i was ready to roll over and die lol. Driving back again with Ami in the car.. WE SO Want to talk to each other but we cant because of the language.. So as i learn one way she is learning my way. We made a promise through Deanna's help that in Two years i will come back being able to speak Thai and Ami speaking English. We shocked hands and i really feel that i will be back again knowing sentence in Thai.. that was the end of my night.. bed time now so that i can wake up at 6 to held to the Bible school today..

Balance

Other day, other week started. I woke up in the morning and we made our way to the Large AG Thai church in the inner city Bangkok. De need to go to their book store and pick up Christian Edu. Book for her class that she is going to be teaching. It was amazing when we pulled up because it seem not to be a church that you would see in the States but it was Beautiful. As we where in the store, i was look around waiting for De to find her book, and i FOUND my books for school, all the books that i have used for class like Biblical Preaching in Thai, and Pentecostal Movement Reference Book YEP you know what i am talking about.. that BIG BIG book that you have to read for AG doctrine and History. It was amazing to see a lot of my book that my professor use in the State being used in a Christian book store.. it just amazes me that people that just go to church what to study the same thing that i go to class for. As we were there the pastor of the church came into the store. He is close to De so he started to talk to her, De introduced me to him and he know amazing English and was talking to me. De asked him about the Christian Edu. books in the store and wish there for more on the Bible studies. The pastor agreed that today in Thailand so many church teach just on application of the word, and not just on the word. The church are cutting sunday school(the teaching of the Bible and the Story in it) and they are adding cell groups. He believes cell groups are good but they just teach in the home what the pastor talked about on sunday. He believe this is really good, but there needs to be a place where the Word is being told. Meaning a place were kids, youth, and adults are learning the Bible( the stories and herm. of the Bible). The pastor said something so profound to me. People know the Word but they don't know the Bible. This seems to be the reality of today church everywhere. They take on the job for being the word to people lives but when asked what story in the bible apply to it, people find their self dumb founded. This intrigued me to think about the churches in the state. We are going through the same thing. I love the way that we are teaching and then applying what we learned in church into our lives and being in a cell group( small group) that bring people into the home to meet and apply. But most church that i have been at or worked out.. Sunday School is gone. This needs to be changed. "There need to be a balance De" just said in Thai in the class that she is teaching right now. There needs to be one, if there is no balance, there the scale with tip. We need the cell groups but we also need the Sunday School Teaching. If you look in the teaching for Jesus, Jesus taught on application, but he also taught history of the world. I always really wonder if Jesus believed in studying the word of the history. I believe he did. Back to this balance, the church needs it. They need to be able to meet and study the word like the past christian did, but also apply application like the new generation. You ask me what i believe Cell Group or Sunday School, I would say both. We really need both, i feel once we have both and really apply everything and understand the word, i feel that our church will be forming more well around Christian. What Do You Think....? write back to me on this or on "face-book"... I really want to hear people opinion on this subject.
